Treating Acne With Things You Can Find At Home
A lot of people prefer to use things that they can find readily in the home as remedies for acne, instead of having to buy products to get rid of their acne. This way for many people is a lot more convenient and they can save money by using the things they find at home. As well as treating acne, there are several things that we can do to help prevent acne occurring in the first place:
Making sure that you have a well-balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables can help to ensure that your body gets all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients it needs to function well. You should also drink a few glasses of water each day and also take regular exercise. Your overall health needs to be good if you want to have your skin looking its best.
Once your overall health is good, you can look at some home treatments for acne:
Toothpaste – Many people swear by toothpaste to reduce swelling caused by acne. The toothpaste is applied before going to sleep and there should be an improvement by the next morning.
Turmeric – Make turmeric powder into a paste with a little water then applying to the acne. Leave for around thirty minutes then rinse off with clean, lukewarm water.
Mint – Using the juice squeezed from fresh mint leaves is said to help get rid of acne. The juice is applied to the acne and left for a few minutes before rinsing off.
Strawberry Leaves – It is believed by some people that strawberry leaves can be crushed and applied to the acne to help to reduce the swelling.
Orange Peel – Take some orange peel, then put into a food blender. Blend the peel with some water until a paste is formed. You can then apply the paste to the affected area and leave for a few minutes before rinsing off.
Salt & Vinegar – Mix the salt and vinegar together, then apply the mixture to the affected areas of skin. Leavethe mixture on for around twenty minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.
Garlic – Warning – if you don’t like the smell of garlic be sure to avoid this one! Either crush the garlic and apply the paste to the acne, or slice the garlic and rub the cut surfaces onto the acne.
Milk & Nutmeg – Mix some grated nutmeg with a little milk to form a paste then apply the paste to the acne
Make sure that you avoid using any ingredients that you may be sensitive or allergic to. If you have any adverse reactions to any of these remedies, stop using them immediately.
